BuildMeasure: Region-Aware Construction Calculator Site
A Next.js static export of construction calculators and guides for US, UK, Canada and Australia with strict publishing rules and 463 tests.
Guides as typed modules with a link inventory test, a no-invented-prices house rule, a query-ownership ledger, a backup-then-overlay deploy script with rollback, and root-page and policy-URL fixes that cleared a thin-content review.

- 463 tests including a guides-vs-inventory consistency test
- No-invented-prices rule and query ownership ledger
- Backup, overlay and rollback deploy script
- Thin-content review cleared by structural fixes
BuildMeasure serves measurement and material calculators for builders and DIYers, split by region because units, prices and seasons differ. It is a Next.js 16 static export; guides are TypeScript content modules registered in a guides index and listed in a documentation inventory, and a test fails if the two disagree.
Editorial discipline is encoded. The agent publishing guide forbids invented prices (cite a dated published figure or label it illustrative) and a query-ownership ledger assigns each search intent to one page. Ten regional guides shipped with collection-page structured data and region-suffixed policy titles, timed to regional building seasons.
The deploy script backs up the live tree, overlays the new build (never mirrors), and supports rollback to any backup. Server-only edits were a recurring source of regressions, so redirects, ad configuration, verification files and the IndexNow key all live in source now. A review flagged the root page as a thin region chooser with policy pages only under regional paths; root redirects and a real footer fixed it, and the deploy script refuses to ship a build missing the required head script.
How it works
- Guide modules and calculators are authored in TypeScript
- Tests check inventory, links and build output
- Static export builds on NTFS and deploys with a backup
- Search Console and IndexNow are pinged for changed URLs
